You’ve heard of us before. As an organization that has worked within the trucking industry since 2009, our name is pretty familiar. For one reason or another, your company hasn’t used our free training yet. Maybe you thought it cost money. Maybe you don’t really know what human trafficking is. Perhaps you think that human trafficking only happens in third-world countries. If you’re reading this, you may still think these things. Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) is here to provide free training and raise awareness of human trafficking to the trucking industry. We are teaming up with Trimble to host a free webinar to address what human trafficking is, how your employees can combat it and why it’s important to join this fight.

Here are the top four reasons why you should register for the webinar on Thursday, November 8, 2018, and learn how to TAT train your drivers:

1. Free TAT Training for Your Employees

Your drivers have probably seen human trafficking in action. Pimps are counting on everyone thinking that the person being sold is “just a prostitute.” They are counting on bystanders looking the other way and ignoring the problem. TAT has created a free 26-minute training resource that trucking companies can utilize to train their drivers on the realities of human trafficking. This training ultimately directs drivers on what human trafficking looks like and who to call if they think they see it happening.

2. Equipping Drivers to Report Trafficking

Not only does TAT provide free training, but we also go the extra mile and equip these trained drivers with the tools they need to feel confident to make the call. We have wallet cards that recap the issue, what to look for and what to do when they think they might see human trafficking happening. To complement the wallet cards, we also have window and cab decals with the National Human Trafficking Hotline number. This

serves as a reminder for the driver and a sign to potential victims that might need help. Additionally, TAT has iPhone and Android apps with information to keep on hand. By providing these materials for free, drivers are always equipped to make the call.

3. Empowered to Make a Difference

It’s easy to ignore a problem when you don’t know how to solve it. The Truckers Against Trafficking training, wallet cards and window decals empower drivers to make the call. Through the examples we share of drivers who have made the call and saved lives, your drivers will feel empowered to do the same. They are not alone in wanting to fight this crime, and by empowering them to help others, they are making a difference.

4. Mobilizing an Army

There are more than three million truck drivers in America. These men and women are already the eyes and ears of our nation’s highways. Trimble provides software for a number of these drivers. To date, TAT has trained over 622,000 drivers. If every driver using Trimble’s software was TAT trained, can you imagine the impact they would have? Join us in November to see how your company can join this mobile army!
